Hey there. Patrick here again and today I'll be continuing our 'Games of E3 2009 Coverage' with Fossil Fighters, perhaps an "underdog" title on the DS. The game has been avaliable in Japan for quite some time, but was announced for North America shortly after E3. The title will release this week on Monday, August 10, 2009.

Gamers play as a young, smart paleontologist who much use a fossil detector to locate and find several different fossils hidden among the island they are residing on. After finding them, players will have to bring them back to their lab for further investigation with other machines, attempting to revive the fossil.

Players can have their revived dinosaur become stronger by taking care of the fossil, being careful not to damage it, and adding on more fossils, completing the dinosaur. Once complete, players can take their dinosaur into battle to fight with the dinosaurs of other paleontologists.

In multiplayer, gamers fight using Fossil Points. The stronger the attack, the more Fossil Points their opponent loses. The first to take away all of their opponent's Fossil Points, wins.

The game does not have Wifi support.

So there you have it. A simple, kiddy, yet funny title. Next week, I'll continue our coverage with a highly anticipated Wii title, New Super Mario Bros. Wii. I'll see ya' then.
